These Big K Hot Brix are hexagonal charcoal briquettes made from recycled waste wood compressed under high pressure. They are 100% natural, as the resin within the wood acts as the binding agent during carbonisation, eliminating the need for artificial binders.
This fuel is an excellent choice for predictable barbecue performance.
Read MoreWe compress recycled waste wood at high pressure to create these hexagonal briquettes. Completely natural and made without binders, so 100% natural. Resin in the wood binds the sawdust together which is then carbonized into charcoal. This creates an ultra consistent briquette that burns extremely cleanly. With a central hole to aid air flow, the burn is even across the barbecue.
With cooking times of up to 4 hours it's our longest lasting charcoal. Hot Brix are also consistent and predictable on how they perform making it the ideal fuel for professional kitchens or keen home barbecuer looking for ultimate flavour and performance.

To light:
Light some standard lumpwood charcoal in the normal way. Once lit, add the Hot Brix on top of the hot charcoal. The heat will spread through the Hot Brix and will be ready to cook on in approximately 30 minutes.
Alternatively:
Heap Hot Brix in a pile on top of a bed of firelighters. Use extra lighters compared to lumpwood charcoal. Once the Hot Brix have turned grey spread them evenly across the barbecue. Allow approximately 45 minutes before the Hot Brix are ready to cook on using this method.
Top Tip:
Mixing Hot Brix with lumpwood charcoal gives a great combination of flavour and long-lasting burn time.
